Children are an incredible gift from the Lord
Jesus embraced the value of children (Matt. 18:2-5), and so do we!
At Lighthouse, we believe the church is meant to be a support to parents and families in the discipleship of children. We believe children are best served when they are able to participate and witness the beautiful gathering of the saints in worship, not segregated from the rest of the family. For these reasons and more, we have begun the transition to family integrated ministry at Lighthouse. This simply means we do not have Sunday school or children's programs that take place during our worship service. As we transition, we are still offering a volunteer staffed nursery, for children 5 years and under, who might have more difficulty staying in worship through the entire service. For the newcomer who might not be familiar, "family integration" was the common practice before relatively recent decades (around the `1950's and 1960's). We are simply returning to a historic, biblical model of church. Please feel free to ask questions as we make this transition.
